What's on in Morzine This Winter

Avoriaz opens non-stop for the winter season on Friday 13th December 2024, all the way through to 21st April 2025!

Avoriaz always starts the winter with a huge ski and snowboard test. With stalls and demo fleets from leading snowsports brands, this is a great way to test out those new pieces of kit you’ve got your eye on…!

It’s totally free to test the equipment, you just need to pre-register ahead of time, and take along two pieces of ID.

The Spartan Winter Trail might be obstacle-free but it isn’t for the faint hearted, with 10K and 21K routes up and around Morzine’s ski slopes and forests. Expect to be running in the snow!

Morzine / Les Gets open non-stop for the winter season on Saturday 21st December 2024 through to 6th April 2025!

A partial opening of the ski area is planned from 14th December, conditions dependent.

Morzine centre transforms into a festive wonderland over Christmas and New Year with various free events taking place daily in the main square. Find details of all the workshops and activities on the Tourist Office website.

Celebrate Christmas in Morzine with Père Noel's arrival parade at 6pm in the Tourist Office square on Christmas Eve.

On Christmas Day enjoy a festive concert in the square at 5pm followed by a torchlit descent on the Pleney slopes. 

See in the New Year with music, dancing and fireworks in the heart of Morzine! 

The free concert starts at 9pm with pop-rock cover band All Ears and then DJ Nico de Carli from 11pm through to the early hours. Morzine always puts on an amazing midnight firework display - set at the foot of the Pleney you'll be able to see them from the square so you can keep partying!

Brand new for this winter, experience running through the mountains around Les Gets as part of Le Trail d’Hiver (Les Gets Winter Trail).

The kids race will take place in the afternoon and adults can choose from a 10km or 20km evening run.

A must-see for all fans of ski racing - the Ladies Tour is a high-paced parallel slalom exhibition event featuring the best female skiers in France. Taking place on the Pleney slopes, this is a fun evening for all the family.

If you fancy dancing and raving in the snow then Snowboxx is for you. This open-air festival takes place in Avoriaz and regularly includes sets from world-renowned DJs and artists.

Tickets sell out FAST but even if you can’t get your hands on a wristband for the main stage, there’s a full on party atmosphere throughout the resort all week with legendary après at La Folie Douce, igloo parties, and so much more.

A totally unique experience, Rock the Pistes is a music festival on snow! With lunchtime concerts on the slopes of resorts across the Portes du Soleil, and countless apres events in the bars, Rock the Pistes is the ultimate in skiing meets partying. And the concerts are all free - you just need your lift pass!

A great event for budding ski racers to finish off the season!

The Course des Champions is an open ski race for all kids aged 8 to 16. The races take place in the morning and are followed by a lively parade through Morzine in the afternoon, and an awards ceremony in the main square by the Tourist Office.
