Golf Courses Around Morzine
Les Gets
Open four months of the year from June to October, this 18 hole golf course winds across pistes that will be familiar to skiers of the Morzine / Les Gets area. Narrow fairways and big elevation differences make this a challenging and fun course with stunning views from many holes - including Mont Blanc on a clear day!
The club house is welcoming and friendly with good food, making it a great spot to refuel after your round. Compared to some higher quality courses a little further away, the green fees are quite expensive but this is a great course to play if you want to stay local.
Avoriaz
A 9 hole course alongside the Proclou ski piste, just below Avoriaz village. Compared with Les Gets, the Avoriaz golf course has wider fairways and less elevation differences making it more suitable to beginners and families. As the course is only 9 holes it is cheaper than Les Gets, although you can of course do two rounds if you want to play the full 18!
The club house serves good value food over lunchtime that you can enjoy from the panoramic terrace.
Evian
Evian is a must-play course for more experienced golfers. As the home of one of the 5 major tournaments on the Women’s pro tour, the quality of the course is outstanding and the rates are reasonable.
With views of Lake Leman from many holes, this challenging course has a number of long, narrow fairways and undulating greens but is a fair test of golf. You’ll find great practice facilities a short drive from the course, along with a fabulously well stocked pro shop and restaurant serving great food. It’s a firm favourite among golfers!
Chamonix
You simply can’t beat this course for views. Situated on the valley floor with the Mont Blanc massif, the Aiguilles Rouges and Les Drus as your backdrop, there’s nowhere else quite like it.
Designed by Robert Trent Jones Senior, the 18-hole, 6km course is surprisingly flat, with well placed bunkers and trees, tight fairways and a stream snaking its way through the course. It can be a little wet at times so best to wait for a good spell of dry weather to get the maximum enjoyment from the round.
The clubhouse is open all day for refreshments, although booking is recommended if you are planning to be there for lunch!
Bossey
Situated at the foot of the Salève, Bossey is a stunning and technical woodland golf course en route to Morzine from Geneva. Designed by Robert Trent Jones Junior, it is exceptionally well maintained and a joy to play. The course is open to non-members Monday - Friday, before noon, and must be booked in advance.
Rates are closer to those of Evian but reflective of the quality of the course and well worth it for experienced golfers. It has a fine restaurant, Le Vingt, with a terrace overlooking Geneva for more spectacular views.
