A Change From Cheese
Lots of people consider eating great food to be part of their holiday. Fondue, Raclette and Tartiflette are just some of the local specialities served in restaurants in Morzine. We love all of these cheesy delicacies, but sometimes we crave a clean and healthy option for dinner.
You may be aware that French restaurants are not particularly sympathetic to dairy free, gluten free or vegan diners. However Morzine has some great options for those of you who want to eat something a bit different to what you would normally find in a mountain resort.
The Bec is unique, as it is the only bar in Morzine that brews its beer in-house. The beers range from IPA's, lagers, porter (the porter is particularly good) to traditional french and german style beers. Don't worry if beer isn't your thing, because they also do a great range of cocktails and wines.
Their style of food is not typical of a mountain resort. They have a menu with snacks, main meals and desserts, but remember to check out the blackboards for their specials.
They use locally sourced ingredients to make tasty options for vegetarians and meat eaters alike. Their chefs make everything from scratch, including the burger buns and sauces.
Satellite Coffee is located on the Rue du Bourg next to Chez Roger's. It is the place in town for coffee and they also have great breakfast and lunch menus. You can expect salads, sandwiches and filled pita breads, along with a range of smoothies, milkshakes and juices.
Their food is clean and ethical, so you can eat guilt free and leave feeling healthy. They also have some great options for gluten free and vegan diners.
Wild Beets is an ideal stop off for breakfast or lunch in Les Gets. Their tasty and healthy menu will fuel you up for a day in the mountains. You can enjoy their excellent breakfasts, wraps, salad boxes, smoothies and refuel dinners to keep you in the zone.
Located 2 minutes walk from the bottom of the Chevannes ski lift, Wild Beets is THE place to visit for healthy food in Les Gets.
They also have a cafe in The Hive, the gym and fitness centre on the road to Prodains just out of Morzine town centre.
Hideout is a short walk from Morzine town centre. Their menu focuses on fresh, vibrant, Asian street food and changes with the seasons
So, it's not all cheese, bacon and potatoes in Morzine!
If you have specific dietary requirements or just fancy a change from the usual mountain food, you will be able to find something delicious during your stay. All these places are very popular though so we recommend booking a table to avoid disappointment.
